Unplanned plaster-ectomy

160 Days to Go: Half Marathon Training – Week 4 of 10k Training

Yes, you read that right. I signed up for a Half Marathon before I’d even tackled a 10k race. Clearly, caution isn’t my strong suit. But who wants a life without a bit of adventure?

Today was an “active rest day,” which in training terms means gentle movement and a bit of pampering for the body. I started off with some relaxing yoga stretches at the gym, fully leaning into the zen vibes... until an unexpected wardrobe mishap brought me crashing back to reality. Mid-hip-flexor stretch, I had no idea my plaster had wrinkled and somehow attached itself to the inside of my gym leggings. I only discovered this delightful surprise when I changed for the shower, resulting in a sudden, involuntary plaster-removal! Quite the wake-up call, I assure you.

Once I’d recovered from the shock of my new “waxing” technique, I indulged in another round of hydrotherapy: cold plunge, sauna, and steam – a blissful routine for both body and soul.

In the afternoon, I took a gentle two-mile stroll, not in any particular hurry, just letting the world drift by as I went. A wonderfully peaceful way to spend the day, if you ask me. So here’s to many more days filled with laughter, a few surprises, and steady progress towards that Half Marathon finish line!
