Tuesday Trials: Legs, Lungs, and the Trentham Trot

Ah, Tuesday! That one day of the week when my legs question every life choice I’ve ever made. You guessed it—it’s leg day. Cue the groans, because today’s lineup included the leg press, weighted lunges, leg extensions, and leg curls. But here’s the thing: I smashed it with three personal bests. That’s right, I might be hobbling tomorrow, but today I was queen of the leg press.

With legs feeling like they’d been through a cement mixer, it was time to tackle abs. I got up close and personal with hip lifts and planks before moving on to some good ol’ bodyweight moves to work the glutes and core. The glamour of it all, right? After that lot, I stretched it out with some yoga to convince my muscles not to go on strike.

Fast forward to the evening, and it was time for a trot with the Trentham Running Club’s improvers group. Because clearly, my legs hadn’t been through enough! This time, it was seven miles—complete with a time trial. Nothing like a bit of competitive spirit to remind me I’ve still got some juice left in the tank. Seven miles later, I was tired but buzzing, ready to (hopefully) walk tomorrow!

So, that’s Tuesday done—PBs, planks, and a solid seven miles with the Trentham gang. The legs may be complaining now, but they secretly love it. Sort of.
