London Landmarks Half Marathon for Combat Stress

I started running on April 7th 2024 because of some health related news related to my heart, you are also aware that I was widowed 16 years ago when my beloved husband took his own life, undiagnosed PTSD was a contributory factor in this as was a severe head injury.

Adrian can't run anymore, but I now can. I got to spend 13 years with him, so I get to run 1 mile for every year we had.

I have never run a half marathon, in fact the thought of it terrifies me, though not as much as the first day I woke up as a widow, this is my first half marathon and I am already training for it. It is a big undertaking as currently the furthest I have ever run is 8 miles. This isn’t something that I can just “do” or have been doing for a long time, it is a learning curve and a training program, which will no doubt involve lats of falls, picking myself up and dusting myself off and trying again.

I will be running London Landmarks Half Marathon on April 6th 2025.

Please will you consider sponsoring me so that other people do not go through the heart break and grief that I have. Please help me stop people being like me.

Even £1 makes a difference, and it is the gesture rather than the amount:

£8

Could fund an art therapy

session for one veteran at one

of combat stress's treatment centres.

£19

Could fund our 24-hour

Helpline for one hour.

£35

Could pay for a veteran to have

a one-to-one peer support session.
